Call them what you like mate makes zero difference.

The law was put in place for a reason it's hardly the dido brothers fault

Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
Do me a favour, Ern. Folk have been standing at Upton Park forever. Man City actually accommodated those that stood and kept them all together, whereas Brady decided that standing was prehistoric and let everyone buy kids tickets in known standing areas.

Whatever your stance on the board, this could have easily been avoided. They fucked it up, massively. Again.

Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
No one stood along the sides at UP since the late 80s.. if you wanted to stand at the OS and you got a seat in the East stand then you were (at best) foolish.

I've gone for the BML at both UP and the OS purely for this reason... because I want to stand and I know everyone else does there as well.

Buster 11:33 Sat Aug 6
Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
People only stood east and west because they were told their BML and TBL seats weren't available and so they were made to go elsewhere. Then they sold their seats to others a week later.

Maybe they should rename it the east sit?

Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
There may be a H&S clause in the lease that the landlord is able/will be pressured to enforce if standing is brought to the public's (i.e. the Charlton Massive) attention (via televised games).

They'd simply see it as justice being served and the government will see it as a nice little earner.

I tend to agree, however, that "managed" standing needs to return to games, and, given the prevalence of CCTV (in the ground), any fucking about in a standing area can quickly be dealt with, leaving the rest to eat their prawn sandwiches in peace.

Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
There were by all accounts lots of people complaining and some confrontations over it but I'd expect this to calm down after these early games are done with, the season starts and people are 'sitting' in their own seats without all the moaning daytrippers.

Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
I remember when all seating was introduced at west ham. I'd always been north bank, and couldn't work out how the fuck seating would work for the majority of fans.

Then I went to a few games and got used to seating. Wherever I sat, I aways ended up having to stand at some points because I couldn't see what was going on as the stadium had been designed around sight lines of standing fans.

I'd imagine now that you can see everything whilst sitting, which makes you wonder why you need to stand, apart from some need to appear in some way like an uber fan, you probably eat pie and mash as well, not because you like it, just because you have been told that's what west ham fans used to do.

Some folk just like to stand, sock.

Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
Buster, it probably won't last.

I personally like to stand, but I can't think of any fundamental reason for insisting on it myself once the view in my seat allows me to see the whole pitch.

We also used to pass kids over our heads down to the front, do you still do that?

Yes, I do.

He doesn't like it though.

Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
Just sent feedback praising the relaxed approach to standing on Thursday thus enabling those who wanted to stand to stand freely.

Especially as the east stand was sold as the kop style stand it is great this will be a great asset to the atmosphere.

Not sure will get a reply.

Sock thought he'd save 11 minutes on his journey, let alone having his arse more comfortable on the OS seats.

How's that working out, sock0 son?

Re: "Persistent standing in the East Stand"
Buster, in tribute to Soldo, I use my ebike to travel between my beer fridge and settee so far, thus saving a period of time probably proportionate to the eleven minutes (minimum) I will save when I make my first visit.

The view from my settee is comparable with the view I had from my settee when we playd at UP.

Not sure about Soldo and his coastal hovel.
